The ride takes 45 minutes from Prague city centre, and you will learn something about the countryside and life of local people. The castle was built by the Czech King and Holy Roman Emperor Charles IV in 1348 as a treasury for the Royal Crown Jewels.

During your stay at Karlštejn you can visit a guided tour of the castle, see a replica of the royal crown and former Castle Jail, see the deepest well in country and enjoy stunning views.
