Explore the Illusion Art Museum Prague, full of illusory art and trick art, which will appeal to all ages. Enjoy unexpected optical effects that will play with your imagination and thus expand your visual perception of the world with new perspectives.
Discover illusory art techniques across the history of art, but also in current artistic trends. Experience a reverse perspective in the works of the prominent British artist Patrick Hughes.
Be amazed by 3D anamorphic installations from various objects by Patrik Prošek or unique metallurgical paintings painted with fire by Ladislav Vlna. See optical reliefs of Ivana Štenclová and the distorted 3D paintings by Zdeněk Daňek and Jan Jírovec. Admire changing lenticular images of David Strauzz, or the stereoscopic photographs of the travelers Zikmund and Hanzelka. Since most of the works are interactive, you will be able to engage with them in your own way. Be sure to take plenty of photos, where you will be the main hero of stories in illusory processing.
Right in front of your eyes, 2D images will turn into 3D spaces, and on the contrary, sculptures will turn into paintings. You can try light painting yourself, learn about the behind-the-scenes of the individual works in the mini cinema and become actors in augmented reality thanks to a new application that animates the works in real-time. The exhibition is not only about entertainment, but also about education. Learn how artistic illusory techniques are used in a historical context, and some works are directly related to important personalities and events in Czech history. Experience the Swedish siege of Prague, or take part in the fall of the monarchy in Bohemia.
See illusory portrayals of St. Agnes of Bohemia, Bedřich Smetana, Antonín Dvořák, Tomáš Bata, St. Wenceslas, Nikola Tesla, Charles IV, Franz Kafka, Karel Čapek, Otto Wichterle, František Kupka, Václav Havel and others famous figures from Czech history.
